Saturday marks 30 years since the beginning of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Please join AIF member Faisal Alam as the memory of those lost are honored and a recommitment to fighting against this devastating illness is created.


“30 Years of AIDS” Interfaith Memorial Service

The Living Room is coordinating an interfaith memorial service commemorating 30 years of living with HIV/AIDS that will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church (UMC) on Saturday, June 4, 2011, from 5-6 p.m.

A one-hour reception will follow.
The program will include a candle-lighting ceremony in remembrance of those who have been lost to the virus and a call for a commitment to dispel the ignorance and stigma that have surrounded it.

Speakers and participants scheduled to appear include: Rev. Gerald Durley (Providence Missionary Baptist Church), Valerie Morvan (Shambhala Meditation Center), Rev. Dr. Beth LaRocca-Pitts (St. Mark United Methodist Church), Rev. Juan Anzora (Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church), Rev. Kathy Morris (Trinity United Methodist Church) and Amazing Grace Dance Company.
Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 265 Washington Street SW, Atlanta, Ga., 30303. Validated parking will be available in the Trinity UMC parking deck.
